Julien Hucq studied jazz music performance and composition in Brussels, Paris, Lausanne, and graduated in 2013 in the Master Degree Program at Queens College in New York. Julien is a creative music teacher with multiple and rich teaching experiences. Multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, flute, clarinet, piano, guitar and percussive instruments) he uses an efficient, dynamic and accessible way of teaching music, which gives young musicians the opportunity to build a strong foundation in music. His method makes students happy and allows them to develop their curiosity and thirst to learn more.
Experienced in leading choir, ensembles and teaching woodwind instruments, Julien is currently teaching at the French American School of New York (Larchmont, NY) and at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy (Brooklyn, NY). In addition, he hosts music workshops and clinics in public and private music schools such as Townsend Harris High School (Flushing, NY) or Musique-en-Bièvre Association (Cachan, Paris).
Julien trained and worked as a team leader of “Jeunesse & Sante”, a youth organization in Belgium whose intent is to gather children on the weekends for artistic, athletic and intellectual outings, and whose emphasis is on working together as a multi-cultural group. Moreover his career and responsibilities in the scout movement has broadened his experience and strengthened his connection with young people from 4 to 16 years old.
Julien is available for private music lessons
