BIOGRAPHY

A native of Belgium, Julien Hucq is a performer, composer, arranger, producer, bandleader and recording artist who has lived in New York City since 2012. A multi-instrumentalist with versatile musical abilities, Julien has recorded 9 albums as a leader and producer that included numerous original compositions and unique arrangements. Julien has collaborated with artists of all backgrounds to compose, record and perform nationally and internationally.

Although Julien has extensive experience in Jazz, his latest project, “Last Call,” is an exquisite set of 3 songs featuring a vocal quartet and a chamber music ensemble — mixing traditional classical sound with pop music in a subtle and contemporary production. The album epitomizes Julien’s mission as an artist to blend and create beautiful music that tells stories and brings people together.

Julien received a Master of Arts degree in 2013 from the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, City University of New York. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Conservatoire de Lausanne, in Switzerland, and his Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales from Conservatoire National de la Région de Paris, CNR, France.
