In his role as Music Director at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy, Julien worked with the Principal of the school to give students real life recording experiences with the recording of 6 choral music pieces at a professional recording studio. The CD was released in the fall of 2019.

In 2018, Julien collaborated with other musicians and stakeholders to form GJS Music School in Democratic Republic of Congo where middle school children, among others, are taught rhythm and how to play instruments. There were different cultural elements to take into account in designing the programs, which motivated him to discover and employ new ways of teaching. The school continues to grow and serve the community.

Julien serves as a clinician for jazz workshops. In addition, he has taught in formal and private class settings. His most recent formal teaching appointments were at various New York schools, including French American School of New York, Townsend Harris High School, Cambria Center for the Gifted Child and Song of Songs.
